Pasquale Longobardi has been Medical Director of the Ravenna Hyperbaric Centre since 1989.
Since then, he has coordinated the medical and health personnel of the Centre with dedication to patients, strength and passion. An undisputed star of research into hyperbaric medicine, he has, over the years, developed an expertise and knowledge that has been acknowledged at innumerable symposia and scientific conferences around the world.
His reputation at an international level is mainly linked to his extraordinary knowledge in the field of vulnology and diving medicine, which is another of his great personal passions. In the world of diving, Dr. Pasquale Longobardi is a reference point for experts in the scientific world, as well as for enthusiasts: in 2009 he was honored by the Ustica with the award of the Gold Trident, which is recognised as the Nobel Prize for Marine Culture.
A Neapolitan by birth and of Ravenna by adoption, his professional style combines the heat of the south with the pragmatic “culture of doing” that typifies Romagna. Despite his numerous scientific obligations at an international level, he always has time to dedicate to his patients and takes charge of the more complex cases personally.
Born in Naples on December 23, 1961, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Naples, with the highest honours and a distinction (24 July 1986). He passed the state examination in the second session for the year 1986 in Naples (matriculated 08/18793, certified on 16 February 1987).
He is a graduate of the specialist course in Underwater and Hyperbaric Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Naples (1987), and specialized in the Medicine of Swimming and Diving Activities at the University of Chieti on October 30, 1989.
