Going into a hyperbaric chamber

Going into a hyperbaric chamber does not require any special preparation, its enough to follow a few simple rules:

  • It is preferable to wear cotton clothing, and to avoid garments with a high synthetic fibre content
  • Patients should wear the lab coat provided by Centre staff, over their own shoes and clothing
  • Follow the instructions given by the healthcare professional who comes into the room with the patients

You should not take into the hyperbaric chamber:

  • Non-divers watches
  • Fountain pens
  • Electronic anti-theft alarms
  • Remote controls
  • Mobile phones
  • Items that run on batteries
  • Cigarette lighters
  • Flammable liquids

The duration of each hyperbaric oxygen therapy session is about 90 minutes, and inside the hyperbaric chamber you can speak, read, as well as simply think or rest.
